We are excited to announce the third year of the McMurry Pre-college Summer Program for rising 8th, 9th and 10th graders. The classes start this June 8th and run through the 26th and students may enroll in the morning class, the afternoon class or both!

"Double Exposure" is being taught by Linda Piel, director of online education and graduate studies, and Jennifer Nichols, Ryan Gallery Director
This course combines the best in photography and technology for a digital festival of fun and learning. Experience the culture of Abilene and surrounding towns through the lens of your digital camera. Come back to campus ready to crop, refine, and polish your snapshots. Import these images into cutting-edge computer software programs and prepare a graphical masterpiece for your portfolio. Computer topics include animation and presentation programs. Students will need to bring a digital device, preferably a digital camera.

English - "The Logic and Art of Writing Essays" is being taught by English Professor Cole Thompson
Students will learn the basic logic of the essay and how to plan and write an essay with effective focus, organization, and development. Students will also learn strategies for introductions and conclusions, as well as various advanced compositional techniques such as ethos as a mode of persuasion, four-level structure for comparison and contrast, figurative language, etc.
